This part-time position pays $200-$350 per week; offers 3 paid weeks of leave; and is anticipated to require 10-12 hrs. per week inclusive of service obligations, choir rehearsal, and other preparation time.

Education, Skills, and Ability
- Professional level of musical talent from formal training and experience.
- Familiarity with liturgical worship services with a strong, theological understanding of church music and the role it plays in support of our services.
- Ability to gracefully receive and offer direction, advice, and suggestions.
- Ability to communicate openly, professionally, and respectfully with the Rector, Choirmaster, lay leaders, and members of the congregation.
- Spirit of cooperation and flexibility.
Specific Requirements
- Provide organ and other keyboard music as may be required, in a professional manner for all worship services, all seasonal services, and special services as directed by the Rector.
- Provide organ and other keyboard music for weddings, funerals, and similar services and be permitted to receive additional compensation from the parties involved. Use of St. John’s instruments in these circumstances should be approved by the Rector.
- Support and accompany the St John’s Episcopal Church Choir under the Direction of the Choirmaster.
- Make arrangements for a qualified substitute organist or keyboardist when absent or on approved leave.
- Assist in the selection of music from a wide range of styles, using Episcopal and other approved sources.
- Maintain a high quality of music by committing to sufficient rehearsal.
- Care for the organ by keeping the area organized and presentable. Make reports on the condition of the organ and other instruments and recommend necessary maintenance.
- Complete all diocesan training as required, including Safeguarding God’s People.
- Take part in an annual performance review.
