Opportunities to Serve
There are numerous opportunities to serve within the parish. Below is a list of our ministries with a brief description of their work. To find out more about any of them, please contact the person listed or call the church office.
Altar Guild
The ministry of the Altar Guild is to care for the altar, vessels, altar linens and the vestments of the parish. Altar Guild members prepare the church for services and clean up afterwards. Altar Guild members frequently supervise the decoration of the church with flowers. For all new volunteers, training and mentorship with an experienced member is provided. If you would like to join, please contact Pamela Dingman.
Chalice and Prayers
This part of the lay ministry is concerned with the reading of the Prayers of the People during worship services as well as assisting the priest during communion. If you are interested in joining this ministry, contact the church office.
Daughters of the King
The Julian of Norwich Chapter of the Daughters of the King work through Prayer, Service and Evangelism. They meet the first Monday of the month for conversation around a book being read, keep up to date with church happenings, keep current with each other and review the prayer list. As part of their service to the church, they organize luncheons following funerals as the church. For more information, please contact Pamela Dingman
Eucharistic Visitors
Eucharistic Visitors bring communion to those parishioners unable to attend services. If you are interested in helping with this ministry, contact Rev. Sr. Diane Stier at 989.773.7448.
Prayer Group
The members of the Prayer Group offer daily petitions for the church and specific requests. All parishioners are welcome to become members. Anyone can submit a prayer request by contacting Pamela Dingman or the church office.
Readers
Readers are part of the lay ministry and serve by reading lessons at Sunday worship services as well as other special services throughout the year. If you are interested in joining, please contact the church office.
